Raves & Reviews
Ms. Lynette was nothing short of wonderful from the beginning of my home birth journey to the very end. She supported me through a miscarriage and was there with open arms, literally, when I became pregnant again. She’s did everything within her power to ensure my dreams were made a reality. She was also such an amazing teacher. My passion for birth led me to become a birth doula. Knowing that about me, she made sure to teach me all she could whenever the situation presented itself.

Accreditation Specialist for the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers
I see pregnancy, birth, and the growth of a family as one of the most beautiful things about humanity. As a Midwife for 20+ years, I am privileged to help women and their partners make these experiences as positive and healthy as possible. Sitting at the "Doorstep of Heaven" and assisting new life into the world is a ministry that I embrace with a long held promise to serve God.
Not only am I a NARM Board Certified, Licensed Midwife, but I am a Midwifery Educator/Preceptor, and Sr. Accreditation Specialist with the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers. As the former Clinical Director of Gentle Choices Birth Center for 8 years (nationally accredited for two terms before closing), I provided clinical education training for many midwifery students now practicing statewide. I am currently negotiating hospital privileges so that when needed, I can provide continuity of care, and offer low risk births at our #1 hospital birthing facility.
I began my early skills and training as paramedic in Chicago, achieving a BS in Biology, and acceptance to Southeastern University of the Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine. My desire was to become a Trauma Surgeon; excelling because of working in the Neurophysiology lab in undergrad school. Moving to PA, I trained and practiced Midwifery among the Amish and Mennonite communities adding Homeopathic and Herbal wisdom to my medical training. This embellishes my holistic approach. Later, relocating to LA, I acquired state licensure, and subsequently became Clinical Director of Gentle Choices, LA's first and fully accredited Free standing Birth Center. I am also a Sr. Accreditidation Specialist for the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers, Midwifery Educator and Preceptor, and an advanced practice CPM. This training helps me stay up to date with the most relevant information, and ensures I’m providing you with the best care possible. I invite you to review some strong points of my training qualifications and experience.

I am very blessed that Lynette Robinson attended the home birth of our baby. She provided wonderful support, love, knowledge, and guidance throughout my pregnancy, birth, and even beyond postpartum! Having her as my midwife gave me reassurance that my baby would be born in a safe and peaceful environment. I would LOVE to have her presence if a transport or hospital birth was needed. She helped me to feel empowered in body's ability to do what it was created to do. We had the best homebirth!I am very blessed that Lynette Robinson attended the home birth of our baby. As a Midwife, I am privileged to help women and their partners make these experiences as positive and healthy as possible. And it’s never surprising to me when another scientific paper proves the positive impact Midwifery Care can have on the mother and family. The sight of a mother allowing her body to labor and work according to its perfect design to bring forth life earthside is amazing. I believe that every woman should have easy access to quality Midwifery Care. I am proud to have received my Louisiana Midwifery License allowing me to offer platinum care to women and families across the Lafayette area.
I'm Tammy as everyone calls me and I am a mom to the best 3 year old in the world. I was very Blessed to be able to deliver him at home with a midwife. I know first hand the trials and joy of having a homebirth and I would love to share my hilarious, raw, and empowering birth story with you.
Mrs. Webb is a recent Board Certified (Professional) Midwife, wife, and mom, who did her clinical study with Ms. Robinson at both Gentle Choices Birth Center and Precious Birth Midwifery. Dr. Liz Romar-Chavis, DC
Dr. Liz Romar-Chavis has been providing conservative, gentle, specific chiropractic care to diverse populations across Louisiana. She received her BS from Xavier University of Louisiana after successfully completing the Biology Pre-Med program with honors. After completing a Post-baccalaureate program in Biomedical Sciences at Georgia Campus –Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Chavis enrolled in Life University’s College of Chiropractic and has never looked back!“I am amazed at the body’s ability to heal without the use of drugs or surgery when interferences to the nervous system are removed with chiropractic adjustments. What a privilege it is for me to wake up every morning to help just a few more people to enjoy a better life with better health!”
Dr. Chavis has been licensed to practice chiropractic by the Georgia Board of Chiropractic Examiners and the Louisiana Board of Chiropractic Examiners. During her years as a chiropractor, Dr. Chavis has had the pleasure of providing adjustments for pregnant mothers and has had success in using the Webster Technique to decrease intrauterine constraint to allow for normal, optimal fetal positioning. As a chiropractor Dr. Chavis may be able to help pregnant mothers who may be suffering from neck, back, and hip pain, sciatica, headaches, and even heartburn.
A Chiropractic adjustment can help to keep the spine aligned and helps the nervous system to function properly for optimal communication between the brain and other parts of the body. Chiropractic adjustments also help keep the pelvis aligned to reduce torsion to the uterus so the fetus can have optimal positioning within the uterus, which may allow the fetus to move from breech position to normal, anterior position.
Fathers may also enjoy the benefit of chiropractic adjustments as they take on more chores to help Mommy out while she is pregnant. Chiropractic care can also help mothers post partum as they now have to transport the baby in heavy, bulky car seats. Chiropractic care will help mother, baby, father, grandparents, as well as big brother and big sister!
Along with being a chiropractor, Dr. Chavis is also a photographer, and is available for maternity photography and delivery room photography sessions for mothers and families.
Please contact Dr. Liz for chiropractic adjustment fees which are separate or can be packaged into your adjusted birth fee upon request.

Nature's Birth Coach
Informative and Compassionate
As your natural birth doula, I am honored to help mamas on their journey of bringing forth their new baby into this world. Pregnancy is a beautiful moment to be cherished and a positive experience to pass down through generations. During birth, it is very important for a mama to feel empowered, loved, and protected. I strive to help each mother labor calmly and comfortably to help achieve a shorter birth with less interventions and most importantly- a beautiful baby! Upon our meeting, we will discuss together specific ways I can help you have the birth of your dreams. This includes, but is not limited to: labor support, emotional support, nutritional support, postpartum support, and aroma therapy!
I am a wife and mother to three little girls. My first daughter was a hospital birth and she is the reason I'm a doula today! I truly believe in the power of women supporting women and believe this to be the reason my next two daughters were complication-free homebirths. Both were born under the precious care of Ms. Robinson and with the loving help of Mrs. Webb. I would love to share each of their unique birth stories with you during our first consultation!

ALL FEES are NON Refundable because the Midwife assumes care as Primary Provider for your birth whether it is out of hospital or Co-Managed in the hospital with the Physician due to change in risk status or request for transfer. The Midwife always follows admission of client for birth at hospital and co-manages with the admitting physician. If birth becomes a C-section, the Midwife goes into the Surgery with you and continues to round on you while in the hospital. The Midwife provides Lactation consulting, immediate postpartum care and discharge education. Once released she continues Postpartum care for you and baby (unless baby is admitted to NICU then followed exclusively by Pediatrician) until 6 weeks after birth.
